TECHNICAL INFORMATION
CLUSTER STONE
( PRODUCT SPECIFICATION SHEET )
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Clusterstone is a lightweight concrete façade with a super-hard
outer shell designed to replicate natural stone to be used on
exterior and interior walls. Because of its lightweight composition,
it does not require additional footings. Clusterstone is intended
for non-structural use and can be applied to load-bearing walls,
wood frames, steel, or masonry. Consult our technical experts for
the proper procedure on surfaces other than plaster.
Sizes & Shapes
Clusterstone varies in size, shape, and color. Visit
www.flexstoneinc.com for information on each stone pattern.
COMPOSITION AND MATERIALS
Clusterstone is produced from Pumice, Portland cement,
lightweight aggregates, and various additives. It is formed in
rubber molds produced from natural stone.

DEFINITION
Developed for mineral structured surfaces, water, and Acrylic copolymer-based penetrating sealer.
PROPERTIES
Penetrates efficiently on all mineral-based surfaces (i.e.
concrete, mortar, autoclaved-aerated concrete, and natural
stone) and prevents capillary water absorption. While preventing
accumulation of dirt, it also resists mildew and fungi growth on
the surface.
USES
As a protector sealer on natural stone to ensure the longevity of
historical restorations. It is also used to prevent water absorption
on all mineral structured surfaces (cement-based) which are
exposed to water.
APPLICATION METHOD
Apply without diluting with a brush or roller after removing all
dust, dirt, or old paint on the surface. For better protection reapply a second coat as soon as the first coat is absorbed by the
application surface. Note that the application of the second coat
will result in a glossier surface

INSTALLATION GUIDE
PREPARATIONS FOR INSTALLATION
- Do not apply Clusterstone upon a painted surface or upon a surface covered with a film of varnish. Correct the situations, depending on the case.
- Do not apply cladding stone upon surfaces with an increased water absorption ratio, upon surfaces that are corroded by humidity, or upon dust-covered or flimsy surfaces.
- During installation in extreme climates, we suggest using adhesives as per the specifications.
- Do not install the product if it is not in compliance with the specifications. Contact your supplier as soon as possible, producing the relevant purchasing invoices.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Stone is applied upon wall surface, with cured rough
plaster/scratch-coated wall, If a surface is already
plastered, it must be hammered first to make sure
that there are no flimsy parts. In extreme cases where
there are old or flimsy surfaces, sandblasting/ proper
grinding is required.
- Application on drywall surfaces: A primer must be used to make sure that the wall is little moist before the cluster stone installation, then the stone will be glued.
- You should always sprinkle the application surface and the rear side of the stone using plenty of water prior to the application of the glue.
Prepare the glue or the joint grouting material, paying attention to the amount of water added so as to ensure proper workability.
If corners are formed, then start from the corner and continue the formation of the line using flat pieces.
- Level the first line where the stones are to be installed.
- During the application process, avoid creating vertical joints in successive lines.
- Using a trowel or a similar tool, clean the perimeter of the stone free from burs for better application.
- Apply only a reasonable amount of glue upon the stone application surface to ensure that it will not get dry before the installation of the stone.
- Apply glue covering the entire rear side of the stone ensuring that there is no gap between the stone and the application surface.
- Install the stone by pressing a hand on the glue to ensure proper adhesion of the rear side of the
- stone. The amount of glue applied on the rear side of the stone must be sufficient so that, when pressing the stone, the glue should overflow from the edges of the stone.
- When applying the stone, use a mallet to avoid “hurting” it.
- To install JOINTLESS stone, fill the grove in the perimeter of such stone with glue. Make sure that you clean any surplus glue that may come out before it reaches the front surface of the stone and gets dirty. If the front surface of the stone gets dirty due to glue coming out, you should clean it using a soft wire brush just before the glue sets. You should never try to clean fresh glue.
- If there is a joint, to make sure that stones remain properly fixed, you may use small wedges. To apply joint grout, use a pastry bag or a joint grout gun. In both cases cut the grouting edge until you achieve the desired joint grouting width and fill the joints with grout. Smoothen the joint using a trowel or a similar special tool. Before the grout sets (after ½ or 1 hour) scratch the joint with a wire brush (made from brass or hard plastic, not from metal). Clean the stones using a clean brush.
POST-INSTALLATION
- Do not use pressurized water or sandblasting to clean the stones.
- Do not use oxides or corrosive compounds to clean the stones.
